Neo Racer Track Designs

I did some rough sketches of different track designs using other tracks from the Cars films but also games like Mario Kart for reference. 

Development- These are the designs I liked the best, so redrew them out larger and neater to see if they would work and if I thought they could work enough to be the finished track design.

The last one is the one I chose to use for my final design. I think it fits the tital "Neo Racer" best as I can imagine the loops being lit up neon colours and it looks the most modern. 

Neo Racer- Track and Car research

For this brief I already had in mind what style I wanted my finished drawings to look like and knew that I would like to use a lot of reference from Pixar's Cars films. I had the Art of Cars 2 so have taken some pictures of the concept art that was used to help create that film to help influence me. Below are some images of cars and race tracks from that film. 

The reason I wanted to use the Cars films as reference for my own project was the idea that every car has a face. I know that real cars do look like they have a bit of a face, but I liked how Pixar showed that and made it look realistic and not stand out too much.
